“Prayers are deathless. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers live before God, and God’s heart is set on them and prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world … Fortunate are they whose fathers and mothers have left them a wealthy patrimony of prayer.” EM Bounds
At Grace Church Monterey Bay, we strive to "continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving," as the Apostle Paul instructed in Colossians 4:2.
As we are becoming a people of prayer, we share our requests on Slack for the church to pray with, and for us. We always pray for one another in our Grace Groups and Bible studies as well.
We have set aside every Tuesday night as a prayer gathering. All are invited. Currently we meet on Zoom. Check our Slack for the link.
Each Thursday night our elders and undershepherds meet together and commit special time to pray.
We long to grow together as a church family in the joy, discipline and privilege of prayer.
“Nothing tends more to cement the hearts of Christians than praying together. Never do they love one another so well as when they witness the outpouring of each other's hearts in prayer.” Charles Finney
If you have a prayer request or praise, send it to firstname.lastname@example.org or post it on our Slack #prayerrequests channel. If you would like your prayer request to be confidential and for the elders only, please indicate that on your request when you send an email.
